Rouvy presents 25 new cycling routes for the Vuelta 2024 – News

Rouvy has released a comprehensive selection of new Vuelta a España routes so that everyone can virtually ride the key sections of this year’s race.

In total, 25 new routes from this year’s course have been recorded, covering roads in Portugal and Spain, to create a virtual La Vuelta spotlight that will run for six weeks from August 12 to September 22.

The La Vuelta Virtual Spotlight includes some of the most challenging and breathtaking climbs of this year’s race. These include the 22km Cabeza de Manzaneda, the Alto de la Colladiella and arguably the toughest climb of this year’s race – Cuitu Negru at 19.5km with gradients of up to 24%. There is also the 9.3% average climb up to the old military base at the top of Picón Blanco, tackled on stage 20 of the race.

This year’s Spotlight will once again feature three challenge levels for 2024, offering options for riders of all abilities. There will be virtual prizes for all riders who complete each challenge, including the new 2025 Trek Madone for your virtual Rouvy garage.

Races also take place regularly on the virtual routes. There are additional rewards for participants in these more challenging group rides.

To further enhance your experience during the Vuelta, Rouvy has also worked with partner Lidl-Trek to develop a series of unique training plans, including 15 individual training sessions.

Stages covered in the La Vuelta Virtual Spotlight include:

Stage 3 – three routes
Stage 10 – two routes
Stage 11 – a route
Stage 12 – three routes
Stage 13 – two routes
Stage 15 – two routes
Stage 16 – two routes
Stage 17 – three routes
Stage 18 – three routes

Stage 20 – two routes

The last grand tour of the season once again offers the professional peloton a breathtaking but also exhausting course, with difficulties arising from the very first days of racing.

From the rolling hills of central Portugal on Stage 3, to the scenic hills of Galicia on Stage 10, to some of the race’s toughest mountains, the Rouvy x La Vuelta virtual spotlight has something for everyone.

Commenting on the latest spotlight, Rouvy’s Product Content Director Antonín Parma said: “Building on the success of our partnership with La Vuelta over the past few years, we have put together a truly exciting and stunning collection of routes from this year’s race.

“This is an unparalleled opportunity to see some of the best roads in Spain and at the same time get a feel for what the pros will be tackling. Keep it up!”
