Flux.1 is a new AI-powered image generator that is generating a lot of hype on X. The latest images created using Flux.1 are taking social media by storm. These posts showcase hyper-realistic human images and videos created with the help of Flux.1. But image generation is nothing new. OpenAI, Microsoft, Meta, and many other AI-focused companies have been doing this for some time. So, what’s the reason for the excitement? Flux.1 is appreciated for its impressive representation of human physical features, including skin, hair, and wrinkles. This shows that the new platform overcomes the common flaw of other AI image generators that sometimes hallucinate and generate abnormal features.
Aside from the images previously seen online, the images generated by FLUX.1 represent a milestone, demonstrating the ability of AI to create ultra-realistic fake individuals with no obvious flaws. This not only shows the rapid advancement of AI technology, but also its increasing accessibility, as FLUX.1 is an open-source model, allowing more people to use its capabilities.
It is also worth mentioning that the photos generated by the viral FLUX.1 were not created by the AI model alone, but also underwent a refinement process using the Low-Rank Adaptation (LoRA) technique, which fine-tunes and optimizes the output of large language models, resulting in even more compelling and sophisticated images.

Flux.1 and its creators
FLUX.1 was launched on August 1st and is offered in three different versions to meet different user needs. The “Pro” version is tailored for commercial applications and offers advanced features. For non-commercial use, the “Dev” version with open weights is available. In addition, there is “Fast”, a faster version of FLUX.1 with open weights that offers users a more efficient experience.
FLUX.1 is being developed by Black Forest Labs, an AI startup founded by a group of AI researchers and engineers, some of whom previously held key positions at Stability AI.
FLUX.1 appears to have overcome a long-standing challenge in AI image generation and was able to successfully generate realistic human hands and legs. Previously, AI models struggled to accurately represent human limbs due to limitations in their training data. However, FLUX.1’s advances have helped close this gap and produce more realistic and detailed images.
Currently, FLUX.1 is accessible through a limited number of platforms and tools, including Replicate (link unavailable) and Hugging Face, which offer AI cloud hosting services. These platforms use a pay-per-generation model that allows users to access FLUX.1’s features on a transaction basis. Wider availability may be possible soon.
