After her friend and bandmate Jennie was part of HBO’s The Idol, Blackpink‘S Lisa will accompany her as she makes her acting debut in another prestigious project. Earlier this year it was announced that Lisa would be part of The White Lotus, Season 3The singer spoke about joining the Emmy award-winning anthology of Michael White while keeping the audition a secret from her family.

The new season of HBO’s The White Lotus takes place in Thailand, where singer Lisa, also known as Lalisa Manobalwas born. When she made her acting debut, she was close to friends and family and ate Thai food every day. In an interview with Elle In The 40 Fingers magazine, Lisa talked about the “genius” creator Mike White, her audition experience and her feelings when she landed the coveted role.
Lisa, a fan of the HBO series, was overwhelmed when she got the role. She said: “I think I cried. I was with my friends, my mom’s friends and also my mom, but I didn’t tell them I was auditioning for it. I’m super excited and nervous because it’s my first acting project. So I was happy for a second and then I was like, ‘Oh, wait, wait, how am I going to deliver this?'”
The singer and actress took acting lessons for The White Lotus but did not say if she might get the chance to sing on the show. She also added that she was excited for her fans to see The White Lotusespecially since they would “fall in love with Thailand even more.”
About “The White Lotus”, Season 3
Created, written and directed by Mike White, The White Lotus will return to HBO in 2025. Production recently wrapped after six months of filming in Thailand. Natasha Rothwell is the only returning cast member from the first season. Walton Goggins, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Carrie Coon, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, Sam Nivola, Sarah Catherine Hook, Aimee Lou Wood and Christian Friedel are among the new cast members for the third season.
