With Hunt: Showdown is preparing for the upgrade later this week to Hunt: Showdown 1896Crytek has announced a new in-game event and a new Wild Target to coincide with the move. The new event gives players the chance to roam the rugged peaks of the brand new Colorado map, Mammon’s Gulch, and try out the new gear, ammo, and weapons available in the game.
The in-game event begins in the new Colorado biome Scorched earth brings three pacts that hunters can swear as they step off the train from Louisiana and head into the shadow of the mighty Rocky Mountains. Scorched Earth brings new gear, ammo, and weapons, including the 1865 Carbine, the Infantry 73L base rifle with a sniper variant, bear traps as a new tool, and a scoped crossbow variant of Deadeye.
An all-new weekly challenge system better helps players get into the action in the middle of the event, and a Battle Pass full of free and premium rewards is ready to unlock.
Meanwhile, the Hellborn is the new Wild Target. A mixture of fire and flesh, the Hellborn is a source of tremendous heat. It can be tracked aurally by listening in Dark Sight. The Hellborn can be found in several locations in Mammon’s Gulch, where it roams the land until provoked into an explosive reaction.
The Hellborn poses an entirely new threat, moving frantically to destroy invading hunters and scorch everything within its considerable range. And since this is still Hunt: Showdownit is best to take out the Hellborn quickly, as its angry howl will attract the attention of other hunters across the canyon, multiplying the threat by the minute.
Hunt: Showdown 1896 arrives 15.August for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. Previous owners of Hunt: Showdown on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will automatically receive an upgrade to the new version of the current-gen counterpart at no additional cost, including all previous purchases and progress.
