Some major announcements were made about the Disneyland Resort on Saturday at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim. Here’s everything you need to know.

Opening date for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disneyland announced

Get ready for the Bayou! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens at Disneyland on November 15. At the same time, Critter Country will be renamed Bayou Country.

The attraction is inspired by the 2009 Disney animated film The Princess and the Frog and is set in 1920s New Orleans. Guests are invited to travel along the bayou as Princess Tiana and her friends prepare for a fun-filled party during Carnival season.

The Walt Disney Imagineering team traveled to New Orleans to find inspiration for the ride and to study the art, culture and music of the Crescent City.

New show at the Main Street Opera House with audio-animatronics from Walt Disney

For the very first time, an audio-animatronic from Walt Disney will be played, alternating with “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.”

The new show at the Main Street Opera House in Disneyland will be called “Walt Disney: A Magical Life.”

“We had to wait until the innovation matched our dreams,” said Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney Experiences. “And now we’re finally there. Walt’s nephew visited the Imagineering campus and was very moved by the project.”

Mandalorian and Grogu come to the Smuggler’s Run ride

Just in time for the movie “The Mandalorian and Grogu,” scheduled to hit theaters in 2026, Walt Disney Imagineering is working on a new Mandalorian and Grogu story for the Millennium Falcon ride!

New attractions and changes double DCA’s Avengers Campus

Have you ever wondered what’s behind the big wall in Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure Park?

A new attraction, Avengers Infinity Defense, is technology developed by Tony Stark that allows guests to travel from world to world—and maybe King Thanos too! Simulated flight is also planned at the Stark Flight Lab, and yes, Robert Downey Jr. will return as Tony Stark for this attraction.

Construction work on the extension will begin next year.

“Coco” film gets a new performance at DCA

The first “Coco” ride is coming to Disney California Adventure Park.

The ideas for this brand-new attraction came from classics like “Haunted Mansion” and “Pirates of the Caribbean,” said Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney Experiences.

It will feature the latest audio-animatronic technology and groundbreaking is scheduled for 2026.

The Avatar Experience is Coming to Disney’s California Adventure

Just announced in the showcase: The Avatar experience is coming to Disney California Adventure Park.

“This new experience invites you to explore further,” said Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney Experiences.

Ali Rubinstein of Walt Disney Imagineering joined D’Amaro on stage.

“We are taking our guests to a completely new place on Pandora,” she said.

While Avatar is set in a Florida rainforest, the DCA location will be inspired by the second film, the upcoming Fire and Ash and future films, “on a scale and at a level worthy of these epic stories.”

Disney is the parent company of this ABC channel.
