Young Thugs RICO trial The trial resumed on Monday (August 12), with Kenneth “Lil Woody” Copeland taking the stand again. During the morning hearing, prosecutors pressed the key witness to reveal details of his conversations with law enforcement about the Young Stoner Life Records founder.

Judge Paige Reese Whitaker Copeland was given a choice: either testify again or remain in prison until the end of the trial. He reluctantly chose the first option. “I’m sick of all of you harassing me,” he said in court.

Regarding his decision to So much fun Rapper Copeland explained, “The police kept locking me up no matter what they could. Every time I walked out the door, the police were after me and they kept mentioning Thug’s name. So I got rid of them by saying, ‘Thug did this. Thug did that.’ I know he didn’t do it, and in my head I knew the police would never mess with him.”

He continued, “It was easy for me to blame him to get it off my chest. That’s what I’ve done for all these years.” Prosecutors then turned their focus to Donovan “Big Nut” Thomas Jr., who was killed in a tragic drive-by shooting in 2015.

“I was just trying to protect myself. I have a family to protect,” Copeland said, explaining his decision to cooperate with police. He later argued that coercion played a role: “You kept locking me up and putting me in solitary confinement. You put me in protective custody in the Fulton County Jail, where people smear feces on the walls. (They kept) locking me in the room, keeping me there 23 hours a day, ruining my mental (health) and dragging me back and forth.”
