Have you ever thought that a pop concert could turn into a thriller? That’s exactly what Sabrina Carpenter experienced during her performance at the Outside Lands music festival in San Francisco.
The incident occurred on Saturday, August 10, when the 25-year-old “Espresso” singer literally lit up the stage with fireworks designed to blind the audience. She danced with her crew and encouraged the crowd to cheer on the performance. However, as she moved toward the back of the stage, a sudden explosion of pyrotechnics surprised her.
Captured by a fan and shared on X (formerly Twitter), Carpenter can be seen reacting with a scream and running away from the sparking fireworks that had come too close to her. Thankfully, she was unharmed and quickly recovered. Unsurprisingly, it didn’t take long for fans to share their reactions in the comments section.
βI would be too scared ngl ππ,β said one person.
βHELP, POOR SABRINA,β shouted another.
“Pyro is so scary π Michael Jackson’s hair was literally burned,” noted a third.
Aside from that brief scare, the evening was flawless. The pop sensation dazzled in a glittery powder blue dress and matching boots, which gave her performance just the right amount of sparkle. Another highlight of the evening was a surprise duet with Kacey Musgraves, singing Nancy Sinatra’s iconic “These Boots Are Made For Walkin’.”
The former Disney Channel star reflected on the evening and her ongoing tour, expressing her gratitude on social media. “Thank you to everyone who came,” she wrote via Instagram on Sunday, August 11. “Special thanks to the angel @spaceykacey who came to sing and dance with me to Nancy Sinatra :’) and thank you to my entire team and crew. All the talented people who made this show possible on and backstage, I love you all so much.”
Carpenter is currently in the middle of her Short and sweet Tour that runs until 2025. This tour promotes their upcoming sixth album, also titled Short and sweetis expected to be released on August 23rd.
