One man is dead and another has just been sentenced to prison after “ongoing arguments” between the two escalated to a deadly degree.
A Pennsylvania man has been jailed after a dispute between neighbors over a neighbor’s snoring ended in a fatal stabbing.
Last week, Christopher Casey (above), 56, was sentenced to 11.5 to 23 months in prison in Montgomery County for his role in the death of 62-year-old Robert Wallace – followed by three years of probation. Casey had previously pleaded guilty to manslaughter and possession of a murder weapon.
The fatal confrontation took place on January 15. The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office outlined what allegedly happened. in a press release at the time.

Upper Moreland Township police responded to a 911 call from Casey about a stabbing at his home. When they arrived, they found Wallace “suffering from stab wounds,” while Casey also had a stab wound to his right thigh. Both were taken to Abington Hospital, where Wallace was pronounced dead.
“At the scene, Upper Moreland Police found a large military-style knife and a cell phone on the porch of Casey’s home,” the press release states. “On a nearby lawn, they found a screen that had been removed from a window next to the front door. The window was open when police arrived.”
According to the prosecutor, the two men were known to the police because of “ongoing arguments, including arguments about the defendant’s loud snoring, which the victim could hear through the shared wall of the two apartments.”

According to the APProsecutors say Casey stabbed Wallace after he showed up at his neighbor’s house while Casey was eating. He removed the screen from his window and threatened to kill Casey because of his snoring.
“After a verbal argument between the two men, Casey stabbed Wallace several times with a large military knife,” the prosecutor said.
In court, Casey called the incident “unfortunate,” the AP reported. Casey’s attorney, James Lyons, said his client had been threatened many times and was “a really good man who was unable to handle this kind of sustained abuse and threats.”
