Ski resort loses Instagram account with 100,000 followers due to hacker attack

Mars Hill, North Carolina Hatley Pointe is preparing for its big comeback.

Known for years as Wolf Mountain, the ski resort was in decline before it was purchased by the Hatley family. It was not opened last winter because the renovation work took The extensive work on the ski area, including hut renovations and new slopes, is taking longer than expected.

The road back this summer hasn’t been without obstacles, however. Last week, Hatley Pointe reported on their new Instagram account that their previous account had been hacked. That account grew to over 100,000 followers thanks to their informative videos about the mountain’s revival. However, Hatley Pointe was locked out of that account and had to open a new one. They are currently working with Meta (the corporate overlords who run Instagram) to regain access to the account.

Currently, that account is suspended and Hatley Pointe is using a replacement account with fewer than 500 followers. The North Carolina ski resort continues to update its followers on various projects and show how they have evolved over the past year.

It sounds like skiers and snowboarders in the Southeast have a lot to look forward to when Hatley Pointe reopens this winter.
