Donald Trump returns to Michigan on Thursday for his third campaign stop in nine days

Donald Trump’s campaign in Michigan continues on Thursday, with the former president making another stop in the key swing state for an afternoon rally.

This time he will deliver a speech on the economy, inflation and manufacturing in Potterville, a town in central Michigan southwest of Lansing. FOX 2 will broadcast the speeches live.

Trump’s campaign rallies this past week have been issue-based, with two of those events taking place in Michigan. Last week he spoke about public safety at a press conference in Howell and again in Detroit the previous Monday at the National Guard Association conference.

After his visit to Potterville, Trump will travel to Wisconsin to attend a town hall meeting moderated by former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, the Associated Press reported.

Gabbard is campaigning for Trump and was recently appointed to the former president’s transition team, along with Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who dropped out of the presidential race last week and endorsed the Republican candidate.

By securing the support of two officials who ran for president as Democrats, Trump hopes to gain support in key states that could decide the presidency.

The Democratic vice presidential candidate Harris is closely behind Trump in all swing states. In Michigan, Harris is slightly ahead of Trump, according to the latest polls.

Eaton County voted for Trump in the last two presidential elections.

Economy as a top topic

A low cost of living for Americans is often a top priority for voters during the election campaign, and both Harris and Trump focus their campaigns on keeping the cost of living low for Americans.

While Trump criticized President Joe Biden and his vice president for their economic policies, Harris released broad policy proposals aimed at combating price gouging and tax increases on some of the wealthiest Americans.

Douglas Emhoff also in Michigan

Trump is not the only official in Michigan on Thursday. Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff will also be in Michigan and will deliver his own remarks on the economy.

His visit will take place in Grand Rapids.
