It happened on Tuesday in Main Beach, Queensland, at the Vortex.

A video shows the guests floating in the air for 90 minutes and then being freed, the park said.

The interruption was caused by a communication error in the sensor, Sea World said on Facebook.

All 13 guests were given a health check and no injuries were reported.

The park said the ride’s operators managed to shut down the ride manually and let the guests disembark.

SeaWorld announced that the Vortex will remain closed until further notice so technicians can inspect the attraction. The company released the following statement:

“Ride interruptions are part of the operation of any attraction and as part of the operating system of each individual attraction there are several processes that must be followed when interruptions occur. In most cases our team can use the computer system to resolve the fault that caused the interruption and return the ride to the unloading position. However, in cases where this does not happen we switch to manual processes, as was the case with the Vortex yesterday.”
