A viral clip from the US Open The tennis tournament seemed to feature a date that went horribly wrong after another guy intervened.
There was a lot going on on the tennis courts at the last Grand Slam of the year in New York. One man in the audience was perhaps hoping for some action after apparently on a date with a woman.
In a viral 5-second clip described as “cinema,” the man can be seen returning to his seat with two drinks in hand during the match between Americans Francis Tiafoe and Aleksandar Kovacevic.
But just as he was about to hand one of the drinks to a woman sitting next to him, a man in the row above him leaned over and handed her the same drink.
Judging by the expression on the man’s face, this was a moment of pure shock.
The video was viewed nearly 11 million times and people commented on the sad encounter.
“I’ve watched this way too many times because that’s life in a nutshell,” one person reacted to the clip.
Someone else joked: “Here’s everything about the origin story of a supervillain…”
“This is definitely a Seinfeld scene,” one person argued.
Another person hilariously quoted lyrics from The Killers’ song “Mr. Brightside,” which is about someone being cheated on and finding out.
“This is a horror movie,” said one X/Twitter user.
One person urged: “Cheer up, king.”
