“I have as much right to some time alone as anyone else…”

Madison Beer has released a statement asking her fans to stop asking her for photos in front of the hotels where she stays during her tour.

Recently, several artists have spoken out against “demanding” fans. Chappell Roan posted a viral video in which she said, “It’s weird how people think you know a person just because you see them online and listen to their art. I’m allowed to say no to creepy behavior.” Hayley Williams of Paramore then praised Chappell’s “necessary” words.

Now Madison has joined the discussion and asked her fans to be more careful about their privacy and security.

Madison is currently on the Asian and Australian leg of her Spinnin Tour, where she has had several sweet interactions with fans. However, she has now revealed that some fans have gone too far and explained why she doesn’t feel comfortable taking photos with people outside their hotels.

In Instagram stories (August 28), Madison wrote: “I’ve seen some people confused as to why I don’t allow photos etc in the hotels I’m staying at. While I’m on tour, my hotels are essentially my temporary home and I have as much right to some time for myself as anyone else… (sic)”

She added: “I also usually say no to pictures outside my hotel because it gives away the location to many other people and unfortunately can put me in danger. I hope you understand that and can respect that! Love you.”
