Steven and Sabrina seemed made for each other on Love Is Blind: UK, but fans were shocked to learn of the split at the cast reunion.
The couple were popular with fans and did not clash on “Love Is Blind: UK,” a spin-off of the popular Netflix series “Love Is Blind.”
But when they appeared at the Love Is Blind: UK reunion on Monday, about a year after filming on the series finished, they were tense and sat on opposite sides of the room.
Sabrina claimed they separated because Steven has broken his word about spending time between their homes in Belfast and London and supporting her new business. She also said he has not considered her in his life.
“The communication was terrible. Steven’s behavior toward me and in the relationship was inconsistent,” Sabrina said.
Steven said financial problems put a strain on the relationship and prevented him from travelling often to Belfast, where Sabrina lived. He claimed Sabrina lied about why the relationship broke down, saying she had simply “lost her spark” in the real world.
Many fans were shocked by the separation.
After the reunion, fans seemed to be on Sabrina’s side, not Steven’s. Support for her grew even stronger after a clip from an interview with the cast at IGV Presents was shared on X on Tuesday. In the video, Sabrina said Steven brought his ex-girlfriend to their wedding.
“I introduced myself to her,” Sabrina said about meeting her ex.
On Tuesday, Steven told BBC News he felt “hurt and betrayed” by the way he was portrayed at the reunion.
“My emotions are still very fresh and unresolved, so I’m trying to navigate these waters right now. There’s a lot being said on social media that isn’t true, and I’m trying not to react to it,” Steven said. “I know who I am, I know what happened, and my friends and family know, and that’s all that matters.”
Steven also confirmed that the couple’s marriage will be annulled.
