Today we’re taking a tour of the Potterville neighborhood, where former President Donald Trump will be stopping in the Mitten State for the second time this month in just a few hours.

The normally quiet town of Potterville is a hive of activity this week, with major politics bringing the nation’s attention right to its doorstep.

“He brings hate, he brings racism, he has a negative impact on our community,” said Eaton resident Kallie Strouse.

“Trump 2024, hopefully we can make America great again,” said Kelly Austin, a waitress at Joe’s Gizzards.

On Thursday, former President Donald Trump will visit Alro Steel north of downtown.

It is his second appearance in the state this month and some community members fear his visit could be dangerous.

“During this campaign season, we cannot afford to normalize Donald Trump,” said Pastor Adam Droscha of Eaton County.

Eaton County Pastor Adam Droscha is one of those who does not want to see Trump in town.

And believes that his visit could harm the community.

“The biggest disadvantage to me in his move to Potterville is that he does not represent the interests of the workers or the people of Potterville,” said Eaton County Pastor Adam Droscha.

Others, however, disagree and believe it could help support local production.

“This is a great way for a lot of people to support him. I’m sure he will do a lot of good for us,” said Eaton resident Ryan Huff.

And outside the political sphere too. Some say his visit could give an immediate boost to the local economy through the attention and people the former president will bring with him.

“Potterville is a small town that can always use a lot of new people. I’m not politically inclined, but I believe the influx of people will help our small businesses,” said Potterville resident Heather Scott.

A great opportunity for businesses in this normally quiet city.
