DENVER – A mechanical problem caused trains to “briefly stop” at Denver International Airport Wednesday afternoon.
At around 2:42 p.m., airport officials said one of the trains that takes passengers to the concourses “experienced a mechanical problem that caused a section of track to break.” This led to crowding at security checkpoints and on the platforms. A photo taken at 3:40 p.m. by a Denver7 viewer shows a large crowd waiting for the train at Terminal C.
In a Message on XEarlier on Twitter, at 3:42 p.m., airport officials said the disruption was “brief” and trains had resumed service at reduced capacity.
Travel warning: At 2:42 p.m. there was a mechanical problem that brought all trains to a temporary standstill. The trains have resumed running with limited capacity. Technicians are working hard to resolve the problem. The South and West checkpoints are currently open. Further information will follow.

In an update at 4:55 p.m., airport officials said all trains were fully operational. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) also deployed additional personnel at security checkpoints, the airport said.
