Mbappe’s account was compromised overnight.

Real Madrid and French national team star Kylian Mbappe’s Twitter account was hacked on Wednesday evening – before he sent a series of bizarre messages.

Mbappe has scored in his first three appearances since joining Real on a free transfer and his arrival at the Bernabeu is considered one of the biggest transfers in world football in years.

Off the field, however, he had to deal with the compromise of his social media account by an unknown user.

The main motive behind it seems to be related to cryptocurrency.

The user responsible for hacking Mbappe’s account subsequently made a series of posts about Manchester United, claiming he would join them in 2028.

The account then sent out several posts about Tottenham and then asked popular streamer Angry Ginge if he could join his Pro Clubs team Girth and Turf, whose ranks include Luke Littler and Wayne Rooney.

It has also been claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo is a better player than Lionel Messi.

The broadcaster then quoted several users of “Football Twitter” and then promoted a cryptocurrency scam – the main motive for the hacking of several other well-known accounts, including Jamie Carragher’s account during the 2024 European Championship.

The tweets were later deleted, suggesting that Mbappe and his team had regained access to the verified account.

However, since Thursday morning, his tweets from the last 18 months are no longer visible and no posts at all are displayed in the “Replies” section.

After that, however, posts slowly returned and tweets were displayed until August 2024.

SPORTbible has asked Kylian Mbappe’s representatives for comment.

On the pitch, Mbappe and Real will find out on Thursday morning who their eight opponents will be in the inaugural season of the new Champions League format.

Real will be one of the seeded teams in the draw. An explanation of the draw can be found here.
