Everyone has their secrets, and for some people, their partner never finds out about them. Recently, Redditor u/bw162 asked members of the Reddit community what the biggest secret they keep from their significant other is. The answers range from shocking to healing. Here are some of the secrets that may take you completely by surprise:
.“I resent him for never making big, romantic gestures – not even medium ones. It feels like he thinks I’m not worth the effort. It feels like I always have to compromise to get what he wants, and it never comes back.”
.“We’ve been together for five years. We met at a football game and our biggest thing in common is our love for our team. We would meet on Sundays and watch the games with her family for years. But the truth is, I don’t really care about football. I went to the game we met at because someone bought tickets and I was free, so I just went. I never really understood football, so for years I just went along with the family cheering or booing.”

.“I’m having the worst sex I’ve ever had. I love them, but they’re just not good in bed.”
.“I went to school with her sister and had a crush on her. I had no idea that she and my fiancée were sisters until we started dating eight years later.”

.“When she first created a TikTok account, she would spend hours doing her hair, makeup, and recording different dances, skits, etc. But the videos weren’t really taking off and I could tell she was a little depressed about it. So I went on her account while she was sleeping and spent $300 to promote her videos and get them in front of more people. When she woke up, she had thousands of followers, tens of thousands of likes, and hundreds of thousands of views. She was thrilled. She still has no idea it was me, but it was worth every penny.”
.“Years later, I’m still not over her affair. I have my reasons for staying, but the pain remains.”
.“I have a box of little crochet animals in the garage that I make when I’m bored or between clients. I told my fiancée that if anyone at work wants one (she’s a hospice nurse), she can take it out of the box no questions asked. That’s what I told her anyway. The secret is that I intentionally make things that she can take. I even have a little chart so I know which animals and colors are the most popular, and then I make sure there are always some left over. Of course, for confidentiality reasons, I don’t know WHO the animals go to, but I try to have as wide a selection as possible.”
.“I always knew he took Viagra. I think he would say his biggest secret is that he takes Viagra.”

.“He’s been eating veggie burgers for about two years now. The first time he had one was by accident, but I’d never seen him get so much joy out of eating ‘meat’ before. Now he just eats them without me telling him. I may have gone a bit too far.”
.“I don’t think his youngest son is his. The story of how this child came about is very shady. The fact that he reversed his vasectomy, the low number of offspring he had, the fact that he caught his sons’ mother cheating when they tried to have another child, and the quick response of the paternity results – it all feels very wrong. 13 years later, my partner keeps mentioning how similar he and his youngest son look. I agree with him, but his child looks nothing like him or his other two children. My boyfriend is 5’7″ with blue eyes, black hair and slim. The younger one is already over 5’11” with brown eyes and brown hair and is a bit chubby. His mother is very slim with blue eyes and blonde hair. It feels weird.”

.“Once a month I go away to a ‘mysterious’ workshop that he is not allowed to ask me about. What he doesn’t know is that I’m going to a blacksmithing workshop and am in the process of forging him a sword that I can use to propose to him.”
.“As someone who absolutely hates dancing and has always turned down invitations to dance, I learned the basic steps of bachata, her favorite dance. I’m not sure how long I’ll keep this a secret; I’m just waiting for the right moment to reveal this surprise.”

.“25 years later, I still have nightmares about my violent ex-boyfriend.”
.“Occasionally, I send food to local people and ask them for food. I know what it is to be hungry, but my husband doesn’t. I don’t think he would understand. It’s not that he would mind helping the less fortunate, but he might be upset that I send food and spend $80 to $100 on necessities to help someone get by until the next paycheck.”
.“I secretly hate the way he chews. I pretend it doesn’t bother me, but it drives me crazy.”
—u/xmimicute
.“I’m so much more perverted than he can imagine.”
.“That I’ve learned to hate him. He’s a psychologically abusive person. It’s exhausting and I don’t deserve it. Everyone thinks he’s the nicest person there is, when in reality he’s an asshole.”
—u/Mamaofthreecrazies
.“That I’m not okay with this divorce. I miss her TERRIBLY.”
.“The cancer will probably kill me.”
—u/Dark_Energy_13
.“I don’t like her parents. They are perfectly decent people, but I find them unbearably boring. So much so that I find it unbearable to spend much time with them. Unfortunately, my partner is very close to her parents, so I think it would break their hearts if they found out my true feelings.”
.“That his father’s dementia is incredibly much worse than he thinks.”
—u/MadonnaTheWhore
.And finally: “I’ve had an engagement ring in my closet for months. I’m traveling and he’s supposed to meet me in Germany. I’m going to propose to him there.”
