As part of her announcement as Contigo’s new Chief Hydration Officer, I had the chance to speak with Ally about her Contigo collection, this new role, and why stylish water bottles can help people keep hydrating.
When asked what motivated Ally to partner with Contigo, she answered with clarity: “It was about authenticity.” She specifically stated that this is a concept she practices in everything she does.
Ally said, “I really love who I am because I’m always working on something that I don’t finish, and that’s something I talk about on my platform.” While Contigo means “with you,” the idea of partnering with a company to create accessible, affordable and fashionable water bottles resonates with her personal approach.
Ally spoke specifically about accessibility, explaining, “Accessibility in water bottles means durability, leak-proofing, great features and functionality. And the price should be such that many of us can afford it.” Combining all of these aspects was very important to her.
Although Ally often focuses on acting as a catalyst for change, she knows her position as Contigo’s first Chief Hydration Officer is about more than simply encouraging people to grab a bottle, drink, refill, and repeat. It’s about finding greater purpose in and around hydration.
Ally shared, “In terms of the discussion around hydration and the importance of amplifying that, you want to take those little things and see how they have a bigger impact. For example, when you’re hydrated, you’re less groggy and less cranky. It’s important to recognize how hydration impacts our well-being.”
In her own busy life, drinking water isn’t always the most important thing, which is why she created the “Hydration Station” concept and talks openly about it in her Peloton classes. It’s about more than just drinking when you feel thirsty.
As Ally explained, “Visibility is key. Something eye-catching provides a visual reminder to stay hydrated. A water bottle that matches your style can be that motivating factor.”
