PSP, WVSP crack 2023 Five Forks theft involving stolen motorcycle found in Mountain State

August 28, 2024 – Nearly a year after a theft at a location in Five Forks, Pennsylvania State Police and West Virginia State Police have recovered stolen property and a woman has been charged in connection with the burglary. Tabitha Ann Wilson was charged with two counts of aggravated burglary, two counts of grand larceny, petit larceny and malicious damage to property. Wilson was unable to make the $50,000 bail and remains behind bars in Franklin County today.

Pennsylvania State Police troopers were called to a home on Five Forks Road in Quincy Township around 6 a.m. on October 5, 2023, for a burglary. In a subsequent interview, PSP said the victim believed the perpetrator was Tabitha Wilson. Wilson had reportedly been staying with the victim, who had given her clothes, makeup and jewelry “as a sign of friendship.” When the friendship ended, Wilson was instructed to move out and leave behind all items the victim had purchased for Wilson, according to troopers.

Upon investigation, it was discovered that the screen on the victim’s window had been removed and damaged in his bedroom. The burglar was reportedly then able to take the clothing, makeup and jewelry that had originally been purchased for Wilson. Additionally, numerous items were missing from the victim’s garage. A 2005 Yamaha motorcycle, three chainsaws, a leaf blower, an 18-volt drill and an 18-volt saw were all removed from the building, with the motorcycle subsequently reported stolen.

Wilson was later found behind bars in Washington County, Maryland, apparently for crimes unrelated to the previously mentioned alleged theft. She was interviewed by PSP and allegedly admitted to living with the victim until late September and to having been in the garage at some point while living with the victim.

Fast forward to June 22, 2024, when West Virginia State Police contact PSP after discovering that the originally stolen 2005 Yamaha motorcycle was found and a third party attempted to sell it. That third party, according to WVSP and PSP, was unaware that the motorcycle was stolen. This was likely because further investigation allegedly revealed that the “motorcycle was sold by the defendant (Wilson) with a paper bill of sale. The bill of sale had a date of 10/12/23 and included” Wilson’s name and signature.

Tabitha Wilson remains behind bars on $50,000 bail.
