AAA’s Tow To Go is offering free rides for impaired drivers this Labor Day

When impaired drivers seek AAA service this upcoming Labor Day weekend, they will not pose a threat to the road.

The car service is introducing its “Tow To Go” program in Florida. This program offers a safe ride for potentially impaired drivers and their vehicles.

How does it work? According to AAA, when someone calls Tow To Go, a tow truck is dispatched to take the vehicle and its owner to a safe location within a 10-mile radius. The service is free and not exclusive to AAA members.

The service will be available to Florida residents from August 30 through Tuesday, September 3.

Additional guidelines provided by the AAA:

  • Confidential local ride for one person and their vehicle to a safe location within 10 miles.
  • No appointments can be made in advance to use Tow to Go. It is intended as a safety net for those who have not planned. Always select a driver who is unrelated to you before partying.
  • In some situations, AAA may need to make other arrangements to provide a safe ride home for an impaired person.
  • Tow to Go may not be available in rural areas or during adverse weather conditions.

Additional service areas include Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, North Dakota, Nebraska, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Colorado, North Carolina and Indiana.
