PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — One of the two suspects in a home invasion and car theft in Cranston appeared in court Wednesday.

Logan Slezak, 18, faces several charges, including carrying a dangerous weapon during the commission of a violent crime, conspiracy, entering a dwelling with criminal intent and robbery.

Slezak chose to be represented by a public defender and was ordered remanded in custody without bail.

According to authorities, Slezak and 19-year-old suspect Johnathan Costa entered the Crest Drive home in the early morning hours of August 24 with guns drawn and demanded the keys to the residents’ Corvette and Ferrari.

The female victim led the suspects to the keys of both vehicles, but the suspects fled with only the Ferrari because the Corvette was not parked at the house.

Following the call, Cranston Police issued a manhunt for the Ferrari and received a report from Clinton, Connecticut police at around 9:00 a.m. that the Ferrari was parked in front of a home in Clinton.

Clinton police spoke with the Clinton homeowner, who said the Ferrari was owned by Slezak and Costa, her nephew.

Through video surveillance, Cranston Police were able to identify the driver of the vehicle that dropped the suspects off at the home on Crest Drive.

The driver confirmed that he had dropped both Slezak and Costa off at the Crest Drive address prior to the break-in.

At that time, arrest warrants were in place for both suspects.

Slezak turned himself in to North Providence police and was taken into custody in Cranston, and Costa was arrested by Flagler County Sheriff’s officials in Palm Coast, Florida.
