Lindsay Lohan And Jamie Lee Curtis will once again play mother and daughter as the highly anticipated A crazy Friday The sequel is officially in the works.

“When I traveled around the world with Halloween endspeople wanted to know if there was another A crazy Friday. Something really touched me,” said Curtis The New York Times in May 2023. “When I came back, I called my friends at Disney and said, ‘It feels like a movie should be made here.'”

Lohan, for her part, agreed, revealing that she and Curtis would “put it in the hands” that were “available” at Disney. “We would only make something that people would absolutely love,” she added.

The first A crazy Friday Premiering in 2003, it stars Lohan as teenager Anna and Curtis as her mother Tess. During their constant bickering, the mother-daughter duo eat magical fortune cookies that force them to switch bodies. Mark Harmon And Chad Michael Murray also star.

Reflecting on the film on its 20th anniversary, Curtis remembered Lohan as being “flexible” on set.

“She has a talent as an actress that is really impressive,” said the actress in the film NYT Profile. “It was a big job. It was a big production. And our relationship was very straightforward.”

Lohan recalled that Curtis “took me under her wing” throughout production.

“Jamie came with such an infectious personality that set the tone for the whole day,” Lohan said. “I was so nervous about having my first kiss on camera, so she talked to me in my trailer and made it fun so I didn’t stress out.”

Lohan’s character Anna had a band called Pink Slip in the first film – other members were Christina Vidal (Maddie) and Haley Hudson (Peg) – which was responsible for some legendary hits of the 2000s, including “Ultimate” and “Take Me Away”.

Andrew Gunnthe producer of the film, said in an interview in September 2023 with Cosmopolitan that they might get the band back together for the sequel.

“We got a draft script for the sequel just before the writers’ strike and it was really good,” he enthused. “One writer had a brilliant idea. The music and the band are used brilliantly in it.”
