F. Michael Haynie, Bradley Gibson, Sis Thee Doll and more to attend Write Out Loud 2024 concert

The annual event showcases the work of emerging musical writers who were named winners and finalists in this year’s Write Out Loud songwriting competition.

Casting for the sixth annual Write aloud Concert, scheduled for September 9 at 7 p.m. at 54 Below. Presented by Taylor Louderman and moderated by Karl Amundson, the event will showcase the work of the emerging musical writers who were named winners and finalists of the 2024 Write Out Loud competition in June.

As previously reported, this year’s four winning songs are “California” by Ally Cribb, “Necromancy” by Wren Mied, “Self-Portrait” by José Alba Rodríguez and Yejune Kim, and “Fade Away” by William Shishmanian and Brooke Trumm. The winning songs will be recorded by a Broadway alumnus and released on iTunes, Apple Music, and Spotify.

The cast of the 54 Below concert includes Akira Sky, Bradley Gibson (Rocky, The Lion King)Cara Rose DiPietro, Cherry Torres (Hamilton), Danielle Hope (Over the Rainbow, Les Misérables), Emily Kristen Morris (Evil), F. Michael Haynie (The heart of rock and roll, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), Hawley Gould (Damn, Camelot), Hannah Kloepfer, Karl Amundson, Mike Cefalo (New York, New York), Savy Jackson (Evil Cinderella), sister, doll (American Horror Story) and Thayne Jasperson (Hamilton).

Finalist songs to be featured include “Things Will Be Ok!” by Gabrielle Ammirato, Yen Nien Hsu and Rona Moriah; “Totally Rock” by Utsav Bhargava and Meredith Brandt; “When I Look at the Stars” by Maxwell Carmel and Miles Walter; “Storm Chaser” by Maggie Kane and Dillon Feldman; “Happiness” by Matt Gittins; “Start This Car” by Danielle Koenig and Raiah Rofsky; “Bad for Me” (from Ten years) by Wesley King; “Shouldn’t Keep A Good Man Down” by Jack Scott-Walker; and “Take a Picture” by Akira Sky.

Past winners include India Angel, Ethan Carlson, Matt Copley, Taylor Fagins, Chloe Geller, Anna M Johnson, Joriah Kwamé, Brandon Michael Lowden, Kailey Marshall, Natalie Myrick, Alexander Sage Oyen, Matt Pena, Kat Siciliano, Emmet Smith, Mackenzie Szabo and Elyza Tuan.

The 54 Below concert will be musically directed by Alex “Goldie” Golden (The notebook, Kinky boots). The event is produced by Sarah Glugatch, Josh Collopy and Hannah Kloepfer, with musical direction by Benjamin Rauhala (Disney Princess – The Concert).
