The Northwest Railway Museum offers train rides in Washington this fall

If you love the cooler weather of fall and the beautiful colors of the leaves, check out these scenic train rides in Washington. The Northwest Railway Museum is offering a few train excursions this season. Here’s what they include.

There are usually two train trips on Saturdays and Sundays. Both are two-hour round-trip trips from either the Snoqualmie Depot or the North Bend Depot.

First, let’s look at the train ride from North Bend Dept. This scenic ride takes you through the upper Snoqualmie Valley aboard historic railroads. From North Bend, you’ll head west to the Snoqualmie Depot.

“After a brief stop to pick up passengers, continue west to the top of Snoqualmie Falls and pause at the summit to enjoy views of the lower river valley. Return east to the Railway History Center (RHC) and make a 30-minute stop to visit the Train Shed Exhibit Hall. Then climb back aboard and return to the North Bend Depot,” the description says.

This train boards at the North Bend Depot: 205 E McClellan Street, North Bend, WA. They depart on select weekends each month, beginning on September 14, 2024, and running through November 4, 2024. There are multiple departures per day, and tickets start at $19 for children (ages 2-12) and $38 per adult.

And the second available ride departs from the Snoqualmie Depot. This train ride also offers beautiful views. It heads west to the top of Snoqualmie Falls and stops at the top to enjoy views of the lower river valley.

You will then “travel east back to the Railway History Center (RHC) and make a 30-minute stop to visit the Train Shed Exhibit Hall. Then you will re-board and continue east to the North Bend Depot. After a brief stop to pick up passengers, you will return to the Snoqualmie Depot.”

This train departs from 38625 SE King Street, Snoqualmie. It also operates from September 14th to November 4th, with multiple departures daily starting at $19 per child and $38 per adult.
