Cancelled plans for a WWE heel turn have been revealed, amid speculation about a possible imminent turn.
With Karrion Kross trying to get between Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, and Woods initially rejecting Odyssey Jones, there have been numerous hints about an imminent split from New Day.
Now it has been revealed that there had already been talks about a transformation into the “New Day” heel after Xavier Woods won the 2021 “King of the Ring” tournament.
Former WWE host Matt Camp noted on The Wrestling Matt:
“There was a plan that Woods and Kofi would be the villains if (Woods) won King of the Ring. That was absolutely in play.
“I didn’t get a lot of details, but it was thought that the power would go to his head and he would finally win what he always wanted to win and all that.”
