Raising Canes Restaurant in Framingham to open in early 2025

FRAMINGHAM — Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers is under construction on Cochituate Road and is looking to hire new staff — but don’t expect to be able to serve food there until early next year.

A representative for the Louisiana-based chain specializing in chicken finger meals confirmed to the Daily News that the Framingham location is scheduled to open early next year.

“Raising Cane’s is set to bring our great love – delicious chicken finger meals – to Framingham, MA in winter 2025,” the spokesperson wrote in an email.

The opening of Raising Cane’s in Framingham was announced last fall after the chain filed planning documents with the city. The new restaurant will be built in the parking lot of the former Aegean Restaurant at 253 Cochituate Road (Route 30). Raising Cane’s is also hiring for restaurant management positions, including general manager, restaurant manager and assistant manager.

‘Serving Canadians’: A hit in Marlborough, Raising Cane’s plans Framingham restaurant

The restaurant is known for its chicken fingers the only appetizer on the menu. They can be ordered a variety of ways and are served with sides such as crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast, and coleslaw. The signature dipping sauce is the chain’s “Cane Sauce,” known for its sweet and tangy flavor.

Raising Cane’s has five locations in Massachusetts: two in Boston and one each in Marlborough, Methuen and Seekonk. In addition to Framingham, additional openings are planned in Boston and Medford.

Framingham Raising Cane offers an outdoor dining area

According to plans filed with the Framingham Planning Board, Raising Cane’s 3,500-square-foot eatery will feature a drive-thru and outdoor seating to serve what it calls “caniacs.”

There are several other fast food restaurants in the neighborhood that offer chicken dishes. Cochituate Road has a Dave’s Hot Chicken, which opened in July 2023 in the Route 30 Mall at 341 Cochituate Road; Chick-fil-A (359 Cochituate Road); and Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) at 149 Cochituate Road. McDonald’s and Burger King, both of which serve chicken, also have restaurants on Cochituate Road.

‘I counted it down’: Raising Cane’s grand opening causes excitement in Marlborough

Raising Cane’s will be built on the former parking lot of the Aegean, which closed due to bankruptcy in 2020. The site was purchased at auction by Brookline developer Paul Linder, who later sold it to Bob Foley.

Marlborough Raising Cane’s, 141 Boston Post Road West (Route 20), is open Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to midnight. The restaurant is open until 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
