Recap of Season 21 of The Bachelorette Men Tell All and Questions and Answers with Jenn Tran

SPOILER ALERT! This post contains details from The Bachelorette: Men spill the beans.

The world will soon see how Jenn Tran may find happiness. But first, it’s time to look at some of the drama of The Bachelorette Season 21 in Men tell everything.

Read on for a recap of all the highlights. Deadline also spoke with Jenn about Men Tell All and her season so far. You can find the interview at the end of this story.

Monday night’s episode ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, as Devin went to Jenn’s hotel room in Hawaii after their fantasy suite to talk about these feelings of insecurity he’s been having lately. Thankfully, viewers won’t have to wait long to find out the outcome of that conversation, and also who makes it to the final two.

In Jenn’s hotel room, Devin tells her that he feels like they’re not trying hard enough to express their feelings. He’s told Jenn he loves her several times and she hasn’t reciprocated his feelings. He doesn’t want to push her, but he wants to know what she really thinks before potentially getting engaged. Jenn seems a little surprised by the conversation, but she assures Devin that she’s been trying to be clearer and more open about her feelings, something she says she’s not doing very well.

But everything turns out in Devin’s favor when Jenn tells him, “I really love you, you fucking idiot.”

At the rose ceremony, Jenn sends Jonathon home. It’s an emotional but amicable goodbye, as Jonathon admits he’s more upset with himself than anyone else for not being able to get closer to Jenn faster or express his feelings as quickly as some of the other men. He says Jenn opened his eyes to how he might feel, and he wishes it hadn’t taken him so long to realize how much she meant to him.

And now for the drama. It starts with Aaron leaving the show to train as a fighter pilot, but not before dropping a little bombshell by telling Jenn that some of the men aren’t there for the right reasons. That was in episode 3 and sent Jenn into a bit of a downward spiral.

Aaron claims he was talking about Devin, Spencer, and Sam N. The men can finally speak their minds, arguing that Aaron didn’t know any of them well enough to say that at the time. Aaron’s twin brother Noah is in the audience and admits that he’s not sure Aaron handled things in the best way.

The rest of the episode is, unsurprisingly, largely dominated by the drama between Sam M and, well, a lot of people. Devin was his main antagonist, and since he’s not around to join the conversation, Jeremy tries to defend him when they debate whether Devin should have pulled Jenn aside at a cocktail party even though he already had a rose.

Of course, Jesse also mentions that Sam M. told Jenn he loved her on the radio group date, and he defends that statement. He says he really felt that, but admits there probably was a better time/day/way to express that.

Jenn is the person who is the hardest on Sam M. She says that after the first few weeks of filming, things started to fall apart between them as she noticed more and more warning signs. She says he only talked about himself and included his feelings in almost every conversation, and the radio group date made her realize that he really didn’t know anything about her.

She also criticized him for the comments he and his family made on social media, where they said they had “blamed the editing and the producers for the portrayal of Sam” “instead of taking responsibility.”

“The man I saw on TV was the exact man I was sitting across from for the entire trip,” she says. Phew.

Sam can’t say much about it, but says he takes their feedback and hopes to keep going and improve.

Jenn also confronts Thomas N. about fueling the drama with Sam M. To compensate, she also has some pretty touching moments with Jonathon and Sam N. and says that she feels nothing but love and respect for them, even if they weren’t ultimately her person.

Jonathon and Hakeem receive invitations to Bachelor in Paradise before the night is over, and that’s it!

Below, Jenn describes some of the evening’s conversations and what’s next for her season. Deadline also spoke to Jonathon about his exit and his possible involvement in paradise. You can read it here.

DEADLINE: How did you feel after filming “Men Tell All”?

JENN TRAN: Well, I feel good. Honestly, it’s not every day you get to be in a room with all your exes, so it’s been fun. The guys are so amazing and so kindhearted, and it’s been nice to just be around them again and interact with them. This trip has been so special to me, and seeing them again just brings back all the good feelings.

DEADLINE: You had a lot to say to Sam M. about his behavior on the show. What made you say all that on camera?

TRANSLATION: I’ve grown so much on this journey. Who I was at the beginning is completely different than who I was at the end. I think when I look back, it’s hard to recognize certain things that I let slide, or mistakes and so on. I’m working on that sense of empowerment and confidence and knowing who I am and having confidence in the decisions that I make. Going into the evening tonight, I just got the bigger picture of everything, looking back at everything, and I was just excited to finally be able to speak my mind and say how I really felt about everything.

DEADLINE: What surprised you most when rewatching the episodes? What did you not see that you would have liked to have seen?

TRANSLATION: There’s so much bickering in the house. I didn’t know there was so much drama going on. They’re so, so passionate. With the stuff with Sam M., I didn’t see how he behaves in the house with the boys and stuff. The drama in particular surprised me. I don’t think anyone else really surprised me. I could get a pretty good sense of a lot of their characters and it was just so nice to see their development as well.

DEADLINE: What was it like seeing Jonathan and closing with him?

TRANSLATION: Good, so good. He was so open and so kind throughout the whole experience. By the end of it, I really got a sense of who he was. I’m so grateful that he was there, and that I can now look back on it with a smile and just know that we’re just good friends… I see that as a plus. The whole experience is like getting to meet really nice people and being able to maintain that friendship afterward.

DEADLINE: What can you say about the finale?

TRANSLATION: All I can say is that it’s going to be an emotional affair. There’s a lot of emotion going on between the guys and I and the last few moments are just very, very intense.

DEADLINE: Towards the end of the season, you’re very honest with the men about your feelings. You express your feelings to them explicitly, which many of the main characters don’t do. Why did you decide to do this?

TRANSLATION: At that point, time was running out and I just wanted to get everything that was on my mind out there and I didn’t want to leave with regrets. That’s how I live my life: you never know when you’re going to see someone again. You never know when time is running out. So being able to tell the truth and live in the here and now as much as possible was what was really going through my mind.
