American rapper Lil Baby got into trouble with the law when he was arrested in Las Vegas on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon without a permit.

According to court documents, the rapper, whose real name is Dominique Armani Jones, was carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, reports People magazine.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police confirmed to People that he was arrested around 5 a.m. on August 26 after an incident in the 3100 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard. No further details were released.

According to People, court records show he was booked into the Clark County Detention Center and posted bail. He is due back in court on October 1.

His attorneys Drew Findling and David Chesnoff issued a joint statement to the Los Angeles Times, saying that Lil Baby has “a valid Georgia concealed carry weapon (CCW) permit.” “On his behalf, we are actively investigating the facts and circumstances of his arrest in Las Vegas,” their statement continued.

According to the Georgia Attorney General’s website, Nevada does not recognize Georgia gun licenses. “Georgia gun license holders should familiarize themselves with the individual requirements and restrictions for Georgia gun licenses in each state in which they plan to exercise their rights,” the website advises. “Gun laws vary from state to state, and other states may have municipal or county ordinances regulating guns.”

Lil Baby released his last album, “It’s Only Me,” in 2022. He was already actively promoting his follow-up project on social media. His last Instagram post before his arrest read, “Album 80% finished.”
