Village Voices: Speed networking and community connection

Village Voices: Speed networking and community connection

Get ready to start your day at Village Voices on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. This is your opportunity to connect, collaborate, and strengthen your professional network with other business owners and residents of Carlsbad Village.

An invaluable but often overlooked benefit of networking for small businesses is the advice they receive from other entrepreneurs that can help them become more competitive. Another often overlooked benefit is the opportunity to learn and expand one’s horizons. The business landscape is constantly changing, and if a business owner never gets out and talks to others, it’s easy to fall into a rut, using the same tactics day after day. And let’s never forget the connections that are made; people are happy to recommend businesses they know and trust.

Join us from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Dea Hurston New Village Arts Center, 2787 State Street. From 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., casual networking will be available over complimentary coffee and doughnuts. It’s the perfect opportunity to chat and make new connections. From 8:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m., CVA staff and board members will lead you through a fast-paced networking experience designed to build new relationships and inspire future collaborations before the speaker program begins. Program highlights include:

  • Hear from the folks behind Barons Market, downtown’s newest specialty grocery store opening in the Village in the next few months.
  • Find out all about the two-day New Orleans-style jazz festival hosted by St. Michael’s by-the-Sea Church that takes the village by storm in September.
  • Contact the Homeless Outreach Team to learn about new homeless encampment laws and how they impact small downtown businesses.
  • Learn about the many resources the Carlsbad Economic Development Department offers for small businesses.

Village Voices is free to everyone who lives, works, and spends their free time in Carlsbad Village. While it’s designed for small business owners and Carlsbad Village residents, if you have a heart for downtown Carlsbad and want to get to know our incredibly special community, we welcome you.
