Noah Lyles vs. Tyreek Hill debate takes new turn as former NFL star sides with Olympic gold medalist: ‘He will destroy’

If you are a sports fan, you have probably heard about the intense debate between Noah Lyles and Tyreek Hill that has caused quite a stir. Lyles is determined to ‘destroy’ Hill in a race and dismissed the NFL star’s challenge as mere bravery. The Olympic champion does not give in and calls the feud ‘one-sided.’ It all started when Lyles questioned whether the winners of the Super Bowl really “World champion.” Hill responded by highlighting Lyles’ 200-meter performance and challenging him to a 50-yard race. Hill confidently stated on the Up & Adams show: “I’m going to beat Noah Lyles…not by a huge margin, but I’m going to beat him.” Nevertheless, Lyles remains unfazed and ready to prove Hill wrong.

After such an intense debate, a new voice has come to the fore. Former NFL star Rondé Barber has spoken out and delivered a clear message. Barber claims with conviction that Noah Lyles “easily destroy” Tyreek Hill in every race, which underscores the significant difference between track and field athletes and football players. Speaking to WFLA.com on August 27, 2024, Barber stated: “Oh, believe me, (athletes) make their living doing this, they would destroy any ‘fast’ football player.” Barber’s comments make it clear who will come out on top in the end.

Barber, a standout hurdler in high school, shared his experiences. “I started hurdling very early,” Barber remembered with a touch of nostalgia. “By the time I reached the higher levels, I had already spent years perfecting my craft.” He paused and emphasized how much dedication is needed to reach the top. “These sprinters, like Noah Lyles, run insanely fast times … because they’ve perfected their technique,” Barber said with obvious admiration. “That’s what sets them apart.” Barber’s comments add weight to the debate and support Lyles’ clear victory, should it ever come to that.
