Rapper Lil Baby was arrested in Las Vegas for possession of weapons.

Lil Baby, whose real name is Dominique Jones, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, according to Clark County court records.

The 29-year-old rapper, known for songs such as “Yes Indeed” and “Drip Too Hard,” was arrested around 5 a.m. Monday following an incident on South Las Vegas Boulevard – the northern end of the Las Vegas Strip – Las Vegas Metropolitan Police told USA TODAY in an email. Police did not provide specific details about the reason for the arrest.

Drew Findling and David Chesnoff, Jones’ defense attorneys, told USA TODAY that they are “actively investigating the facts and circumstances of his arrest in Las Vegas.”

“To be clear, Dominique Jones holds a valid Georgia State Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) permit,” they said.

Lil Baby released on bail

Jones was booked into the Clark County Detention Center and released after posting $5,000 bail, Clark County court records show. His next court date is scheduled for Oct. 1.

If Lil Baby’s concealed carry permit came from Georgia, where he is from, then it would not be valid in Nevada. The state of Nevada recognizes concealed carry permits from 28 states, and Georgia is not one of them.
