Pro-choice ad features teenager arrested for ‘avoiding motherhood’ as part of Project 2025 America

The Lincoln Project released a new pro-choice ad on Tuesday in which the moderately conservative, anti-Trump political action committee suggests that the federal government could intervene in women’s reproductive choices if Project 2025 ever comes to fruition.

The video, posted on YouTube on Tuesday, begins with a father and his daughter being stopped during a traffic stop. What begins as a routine query about their driver’s license and vehicle registration develops into a full-scale interrogation involving the intimate details of their daughter’s pregnancy.

“Abigail, right?” the officer asks for confirmation, as the camera shows the father’s smile turning to worried confusion. “Excuse me, are you approximately eight weeks pregnant? I see you’ve been spotting recently. Have you had any cramps or nausea?”

“It’s personal,” says the young woman.

After Abigail tries to cover up her plans to visit an abortion clinic, the conversation quickly turns to the officer confronting the two about their attempt to cross the border of an anti-abortion state to receive reproductive care.

“Your navigation points to a women’s clinic in one of those abortion states,” the officer continues.

“We have the right to travel,” Abigail interrupts.

“No more,” the officer tells her. “Get out of the car… both of you out now. You, sir, are under arrest for crossing state lines to obtain an abortion for a minor in your care. And you, young lady, well, you are under arrest for evading motherhood.”

The video then ends with this message: “Project 2025 will enforce a nationwide abortion ban with no exceptions for anyone with a badge. Watch Project 2025.”

Trump has distanced himself from Project 2025, saying he had nothing to do with it and distancing himself from some of its proposals. The policy roadmap was created by the Heritage Foundation, which has close ties to the former president.

The video appears to serve as a PSA to highlight the future implications of the Heritage Foundation’s conservative policy package, Project 2025, should Trump return to the Oval Office. The Lincoln Project was founded in December 2019 by moderate conservatives and former GOP members opposed to Trump and his allies.
