The Cincinnati Bengals placed defensive end Myles Murphy and punter Brad Robbins on the reserve/injured list as they trimmed their roster to 53 players on Tuesday. Both players are eligible to return after the first four weeks of the season.
Receivers Shedrick Jackson and Kendric Pryor were among the 16 players released. Players who are released must go through the release list before they can be signed to a team’s practice squad.
The Bengals are expected to announce a practice squad of up to 16 players on Wednesday.
Undrafted free agent linebacker Maema Njongmeta, who has become a fan favorite, was added to Cincinnati’s 53-man roster.

The Bengals’ 53-man roster.
They retain Tanner McLachlan, a promising tight end prospect, and also have four defensive ends and six defensive tackles available (Jackson’s injury is also worth mentioning).
