Shedeur Sanders wants to build on his father’s Nike signature shoes

However, there is one key question for the rising young star: what will he do for football boots?

This is exactly the question Sanders was asked on 2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders Podcast, and he noted that he would like to build on his father’s Nike sneakers, Deion Sandersrocked while he was in the league.

“I would want to build on that. I want to build on that. I want to have a different version,” Sanders said. “But I think it’s about the concept because I feel like it’s more… like now, just looking at life and everything, it’s more about generations. It’s more about what could be passed down year after year after year instead of everyone starting to think they’re a whole new wave and something whole new because there’s no real substance behind it.”

Of course, Sanders is first working on his own legacy on the field. He still has a long, long, long way to go to catch up to his father, who was one of the best there ever was.

But he has the stage. All eyes are on Colorado, and Sanders is being touted as a potential first-round pick in the NFL Draft.

If that works, Nike’s signature shoes will likely follow. Sanders just wants to make sure everyone knows what they’re getting.

“Everything that’s great has to have a story,” Sanders said. “Every great player has to have a story. I think that design and everything like that always has to have a great story behind it.”

Sanders seems to relish the prospect of continuing his father’s legacy with the signature Nike shoes. Perhaps it’s because Deion Sanders has given him plenty of opportunities to grow throughout his life.

It certainly sounds like Sanders wants to leave a similar legacy to his future children.

“I basically want to make life as simple, easy, simple as possible,” Sanders explained. “Whether he appreciates that or not, I just feel like at the end of the day, unbeknownst to him, everything will be exactly as it’s supposed to be. And when he’s ready, I would say when he understands life, he’ll have access to it.”

Sanders’ goal is to get to a place where he can do all of that. If that includes Nike signature shoes, great.

For now, Sanders is only focused on what he can control, which is ultimately how he wants to shape his children.

“That’s why I say when he’s ready and fully understands what life is and what life is actually like in the real world and stuff, then I think he’ll have access to all of that,” Sanders said. “But right off the bat, no, that’s not possible. He still has to have the same mentality and the way we grew up, which is in a nice home, but then he still has to have a lot of grit. He can’t just be the nice guy all the time.”
