Strict rule will likely prevent Prince Harry from attending his uncle’s funeral

Strict rule will likely prevent Prince Harry from attending his uncle’s funeral

According to sources, Prince Harry is unlikely to attend the funeral of his uncle Robert Fellowes next week due to strict regulations.

The rules that may affect his attendance at the funeral depend on his current residence in the United States.

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have decided to move to Los Angeles following relentless criticism, insulting tabloids and family disputes within the royal family. The two spoke out in a sensational interview with Oprah in 2021, alongside the Netflix documentary Harry and Meghan.

It was revealed that during her pregnancy, Meghan was asked by a senior member of the royal family what color her son’s skin would be.

Many people thought that Meghan’s inclusion in the royal family was a sign of a time of great change and hope because of the color of her skin – but that was not the case.

The Duke and Duchess now live in LA with their two children and run the Archewell Foundation.

According to sources, Harry is unlikely to attend his uncle’s upcoming funeral as the Home Office has decided to downgrade its security measures.

The Express reports: “A source has revealed that while the Duke’s friends living in the UK would like to spend more time with him, the requirement to give 28 days’ notice before arriving in the country limits his visits to special occasions or public events planned well in advance.

“The source added that the situation had become so bad that Harry was likely to miss his uncle Robert Fellowes’ funeral next week because his team had to give the Home Office 28 days’ notice of his plans to visit the UK in order to put together a security plan.”

Fellowes died on July 29 at the age of 82.

The anonymous source added: “Harry had no plans to visit the UK this summer, so if something comes up at the last minute, such as a funeral, it is very difficult to manage the situation.

“Harry would like to spend more time in the UK, but ongoing security issues have made it a logistical nightmare for his team.”

Despite the rules, there have been occasions when Harry has flown to the UK for important appointments.

He returned for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II on September 19, 2022 and also visited his father, King Charles III, after receiving the news that he had cancer.

A government spokesman said: “The UK Government’s security protection regime is rigorous and appropriate. It has long been our policy not to provide detailed information about these arrangements as doing so could compromise their integrity and affect the safety of individuals.”

“It would not be appropriate to comment on ongoing legal proceedings.”
