An American water park has introduced a new attraction that will literally make thrill seekers scream.
Set to be unveiled at the popular park, the water coaster and raft hybrid will take users on a ride with plenty of ups and downs.
Causing a sensation
Soak Island City, a water park on Kings Island in Ohio, has announced that it will unveil the state’s first dual-racing water coaster called RiverRacers in 2025, according to Fox19 Now.
Part water coaster and part water slide, guests can experience the best of both in one ride.
The attraction is designed to be powered by gravity and water jets.
The rafts, arranged side by side, can plunge into the depths at speeds of up to 30 miles per hour, so the ride is not for the faint of heart.
And that’s just the beginning – the riders are then transported up the mountain by the water jets.
There is still plenty of splashing to be done on the rest of the course.
As the water jets send the riders upwards, they form split curves that are mirror images of each other.
An enclosed tunnel takes passengers through the darkness, with special lighting effects and all the trimmings.
Racers will find that the ride has many twists and turns as they are forced into a “steep turn spin.”
You will be thrown 180 degrees until the big, nerve-wracking finale – the final mega drop.
The first place winner will then be announced.
“Whether you’re a water slide newbie or a seasoned thrill seeker, Soak City offers the largest outdoor water park experience in Ohio,” said Mike Koontz, vice president of Kings Island.
He said the new water coaster would be fun for the whole family.
CHILDREN’S PLAY
Children can also cool off in a new play area with seven water slides, the so-called Salamander Sliders.
This is located in the riverside play area specially designed for children, Splash River Junction.
Children of all ages will enjoy the slides with gentle slopes, declines and curves.
In addition to the Bluegill Lagoon, a reinterpretation of an old-fashioned “swimming hole” with its own water tower, hundreds of new loungers and chairs offer guests the opportunity to escape into the shade.
When you’re ready for the thrill, guests can purchase season passes for $120, which grant them access to the park for the rest of the year and through 2025.
Visitors benefit from numerous discounts and free parking.
If you purchase by August 18, you will receive five free SingleUse Fast Lanes for use on selected dates in 2024.
