Joe Jonas is gearing up to release his first solo album in over a decade, promising his fans that it will be his most “personal” music yet. However, he also lets everyone know that he doesn’t plan on “going all out” on his new songs, as his personal life has been a challenging year, including his divorce from ex Sophie Turner.
In a new interview with BillboardJonas talked about the “sometimes frightening, but also liberating” process of producing his upcoming second solo album Music for people who believe in lovea sequel to 2011 Fast life This falls on October 18th, especially since he experienced major changes in his life. Jonas filed for divorce from game of Thrones Alum in September 2023 after four years of marriage and the birth of two daughters: Willa And Dolphins.
“I’ve been through a lot of changes in my life,” he said. “I’ve figured out who I am as a person, a father and a friend, and I’ve lived under the microscope of what the music industry can be. And I think at such a crazy time in my life, I’ve looked to music as an outlet.”
Although working on the album was a therapeutic experience for him amid difficult challenges and his high-profile divorce, Jonas stressed that his intention was not to “challenge” anyone or anything on the record, but rather that the record should reflect his personal journey.
“I’m not trying to insult anyone on this album,” he said. “I’m not trying to put things in the foreground. I have a beautiful life that I’m grateful for. I have two beautiful children. I’m a happy person and the music should reflect that – but also the path that got me here.”
Music for people who believe in love will be released on October 18th. Fans have already had a taste of what the album might contain with the first single “Work It Out”.
