Doggie Day Out: Humane Educational Society’s new program aims to bring community and dogs together – Hits 96

Keeping up to date with Gino…

In a heartwarming initiative aimed at strengthening the community’s bond with their four-legged friends, Chattanooga Humane Educational Society (HES) has announced an exciting new program that will enable residents to “Checkout“a dog for outings around town. The program is designed to provide new experiences for dogs in need of socialization while giving community members the opportunity to enjoy the company of a furry friend on local adventures.

As part of the launch, HES is asking the public for suggestions on how to name the program. From now until the end of the month, citizens can vote online for their preferred name suggestion. The winning title will be announced in September, along with details on how the program will work.

Participants in the program have the opportunity to borrow a dog for a period of time to take their new four-legged companion for walks, visit dog-friendly establishments or simply spend relaxing afternoons in the park. HES staff provide advice on dog care and behavior to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for both the dog and the borrower.

HES hopes that the new program will not only increase adoptions and awareness of the dogs in their care, but also strengthen community ties and encourage responsible pet ownership.
