LARAMIE, Wyoming (Wyoming News Now) – Laramie, Wyoming, was recently the setting for the country star’s latest music video.
“I’m here at the Oxford Ranch in Laramie, WY. This ranch was used as one of the few filming locations for Lainey Wilson’s new music video ‘Whirlwind.'”
The artist recently released her new album “Whirlwind,” but the video was in the works long before the album was released.
“I think she just happened to have time between tours, had a couple of days off and played at CFD, and I think it just took off from there,” said Haylee Russell, manager of the Cowboy Saloon and Dance Hall in Laramie.
J’s Prairie Rose, the Cowboy Saloon and Dance Hall, and the Oxford Ranch are some of the places you can see in the video if you know Laramie. The Sheriff’s Department was also featured.
Also, Lainey first performed in Wyoming in January 2021 at the Cowboy Bar. Some even believe that this was her inspiration for the decision to film in Laramie.
This unique experience gave some Laramie residents the opportunity to participate in something that is hard to find in a small town.
“I think Laramie has a really good way of captivating people. Especially the small town atmosphere. I think if that’s what you want to do with a country song, there’s no better representative than Laramie,” said Ryder Sr., an extra in the music video.
