Riders at Six Flags amusement park were found dangling 250 feet in the air. This begs the question… Why would an adult go to an amusement park?

UPI News – An attraction at Six Flags Mexico amusement park was shut down during a storm, leaving passengers dangling 250 feet in the air for about 10 minutes.

Omar Hernández Medrano was one of the passengers on the Supergirl Sky Flight attraction, also known as the Sky Screamer, at the Mexico City amusement park last week when the attraction was forced to close due to heavy rain and wind.

Rides resumed later in the day. No injuries were reported.

Don’t get me wrong, theme parks were a big part of my childhood. Every year we would go to Hershey Park. We would get up at the crack of dawn and ride all kinds of rides, especially roller coasters, until the park literally had to kick us out. It was great, and if you looked at the rides, there were countless other families doing the same. The same goes for Six Flags or other theme parks that people went to as kids. They were all equally great growing up.

Amusement parks as an adult…a whole different story. I went with my younger brother a few years ago and my god, the place was different. Those hills you could walk up with no problem as a kid got harder at 33, the lines of people weren’t fun, they were annoying, and worst of all, the rides seemed to shake you up MUCH worse than before. After 1-2 roller coasters, I was done for the day. I used to do 10+ in a day and craved more. Now…no chance.

Now add to that the fact that I could be dangling 250 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND FOR 10 FUCKING MINUTES at one of these places… no way. Theme parks are a waste of time for adults. Absolutely done. Thank goodness it all turned out well for everyone, maybe next time they’ll think twice about spending the day waiting in lines and getting headaches on roller coasters.
