Katie Boulter kicks off her US Open campaign this afternoon when she faces Belarus’ Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the first round at Flushing Meadows in New York. The British No.1 is expected to play at around 4pm BST on Tuesday, before fellow Brit Dan Evans takes on Russia’s Karen Khachanov a little later at 5.15pm.
Boulter has had a good and consistent game so far this year. She has won two WTA Tour titles but has underperformed at the majors. In 2024, she has never been past the second round at a Grand Slam and will be hoping to put in a strong performance this afternoon against a somewhat tricky opponent.
Sasnovich has played his way into the tournament through the qualifying rounds and the 30-year-old, who has won 11 singles and seven doubles titles on the ITF Tour, is in good form. Evans, meanwhile, will play against the dangerous Khachanov on Court 6. He has won just five ATP Tour matches all year but could go into the tournament with plenty of confidence after his good run alongside Andy Murray at the Olympic doubles tournament in Paris.

Briton Harriet Dart faces a tough test in the second round
Harriet Dart made it to the second round of the US Open for the first time after easily defeating Chloe Paquet in New York.
Dart is currently enjoying the best time of her career and after making it to the third round at Wimbledon, she has now won her first main draw match at Flushing Meadows.
The 26-year-old dropped just two games in a dominant performance that earned her a 6-1 and 6-2 win. The victory lifts her ranking to a provisional career-high of 66th in the world rankings.
She will have her hands full to repeat her performance at Wimbledon, as she will face 13th seed Emma Navarro in the next round.

Good day and welcome to The Coverage of today’s US Open.
Britain’s Katie Boulter is on duty in Flushing Meadows and will appear in court at around 4 p.m. today when she begins her election campaign in New York.
The British No. 1 has not had her best time at Grand Slams this year, never making it past the second round, but overall it has been a strong year for her and she will be hoping to finish this tournament with flying colours and a long run.
Her opponent is qualifier Aliaksandra Sasnovich, who has already won three matches to qualify for the tournament proper and will be well familiar with the conditions ahead of this first-round clash.
