Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb finalized his long, record-breaking four-year, $136 million contract extension on Monday, which includes a $38 million signing bonus – the highest amount ever paid to a wide receiver.

The immediate reaction in Cowboys Nation was pure joy, and Lamb’s agent even celebrated the new contract on social media. But the All-Pro wide receiver’s teammates were also happy about his pay.

One of those teammates was star edge rusher Micah Parsons, who knows he’s in for a huge payday.

Parsons spoke about Lamb’s contract extension in his podcast The edge with Bleacher Report. Parsons praised Lamb for his presence in the locker room, how he cares for his family and his strong impact on the offense as one of the team’s best players.

Earlier in the offseason, Parsons challenged Lamb to get his money, saying, “CeeDee is about to hit the Brinks truck.” He added, “If I were his agent, CeeDee would get $36 million a year.”

In the end, Lamb’s contract did not reach the $36 million mark, but it is still around $34 million per year, just below the $35 million mark of Minnesota Vikings star Justin Jefferson.

But lamb is worth every dollar.

Last season, Lamb had the best year of his professional career. He led the NFL with 135 passes caught for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns. Lamb, who added two rushing touchdowns, was selected to the first-team All-Pro selection and was named to the Pro Bowl for the third time in his career.

Now that he is under contract, Lamb can turn his attention to preparing for his team’s Week 1 game against the Cleveland Browns to open the 2024 NFL regular season.
