The passenger, Jailin M. Jones (18), pulled two bags of marijuana from his pocket. Both men were arrested but denied knowing anything about the contents of the backpack. Several clear bags used for packaging marijuana and scales were found in the vehicle.

Carter was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of firearms in the presence of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to wear seatbelt and improper lane usage. Jones was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of firearms in the presence of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bail was set at $7,500 for each man.
