Kit Harington has been making headlines since joining the cast as Henry Muck, CEO of green energy company Lumi, in season 3 of the HBO original drama series Industry. The actor recently opened up about his experience working on the series. He also spoke about his journey to sobriety, having previously revealed that he entered rehab for alcoholism in 2019 and was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. In a recent interview with GQ magazine, Kit Harington revealed he was glad he got sober before having children with his wife Rose Leslie. The actor said there was a time when it seemed “physically and emotionally impossible” for him not to drink again.
Harington then expressed that the fact that he can be proud of his journey to sobriety is an “accomplishment” in itself. The Game of Thrones actor explained that before his sobriety, he looked in the mirror and called himself an “ac*nt,” noting that he despises himself and cannot be proud of anything he has accomplished in his career.
He added: “The fact that I am proud to be sober is in and of itself a sign that I am a completely different person.”
Harington mentioned that when he steps on set and does his work, he feels a sense of pride knowing he’s “putting everything into it,” and explained that he used to feel like he had a “huge weight on his back” that seemed to crush him.
The Baby Ruby actor said he can’t predict the future and could suffer a “serious relapse.” He hopes that doesn’t happen. He said it helps him to talk about his problems.

Harington said he hopes to help others by being open about his addiction issues. When people hear about public figures who have had similar problems and are now truly happy and content, they may realize that it is possible to overcome their problems. “I can’t imagine going back to what I would do (anymore).”
