(Glass Onyon) Tim Bowness has released a music video for his brand new song “Lost/Not Lost.” The song is taken from his upcoming album “Powder Dry,” which is set to be released on September 13th via Kscope.
He said of the single: “Both musically and lyrically, Lost / Not Lost is the most direct song on Powder Dry. It’s a straightforward electro-pop piece with an optimistic lyric that embraces escape and a spirit of surrender. It offers a sharp contrast to some of the darker emotions and difficult stories found elsewhere on the album. Like the rest of the music, it came about in a very natural and instinctive way. Obviously I was in a rare good mood that day!”
The new single was mixed by Bowness’s partner at No-Man, Steven Wilson, and is accompanied by a vibrant and lively new video produced by Blacktide Productions. Packing 16 tracks into a restless 40-minute duration, Tim Bowness’ eighth studio album Powder Dry represents a fresh start on a new label.
The album is a collection of sharp contrasts, a vibrant, accessible and highly experimental assault on genres that encompasses industrial rock, electro pop, singer-songwriter directness, spooky fairground soundscapes and more.
Powder Dry was the first album to be entirely produced, performed and written by Bowness, and mixed (in stereo and surround sound) by Bowness’s partner at no-man (and The Album Years podcast), Steven Wilson, who also acted as a soundboard for Bowness during the mixing process.
