Ahead of the fourth season premiere on Tuesday, the stars of Only Murders in the Building were interviewed on Good Morning America to give a sneak peek at the new season and talk about what fans can expect.

In addition to the trio – Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez – Meryl Streep was also interviewed on the set of the hit Hulu series. The Hollywood star appeared in the last season of “Only Murders” in the role of Loretta Durkin, an unsuccessful theater actress.

“Loretta is probably the person I am today if I hadn’t had a series of incredible breakthroughs,” says the Oscar winner. “In that respect, it was special. I kind of walked in naked… or ‘streaked-down,'” she added with a laugh. “I just wanted joy. And that’s what I got.”

Streep also talked about “Look for the Light,” the song her character sang in Season 3, which was written by Broadway songwriters Benj Pasek, Justin Paul and Sara Bareilles.

“The song they gave me to sing was like a gift. It was one of the most beautiful things. I still sing it to my grandchildren,” she revealed.

Short says the new season has a “spectacular mystery,” and Gomez adds that she believes “it’s our best season.” Season 4 premieres Tuesday, August 27.

In Season 4, the characters spend time in Los Angeles while a movie based on their podcast is developed, while also trying to solve the suspected murder of Sazz Pataki, played by Jane Lynch, who was found dead in the Season 3 finale. In addition to the returning cast, Season 4 also features Molly Shannon, Eva Longoria, Eugene Levy, Zach Galifianakis, Richard Kind and more new cast members. Watch the full GMA segment!
