KEARNEY – The All of Us research program brings the future of health to Kearney.
This week, the Kearney Public Library is hosting the National Institutes of Health’s All of Us Journey, a traveling exhibit designed to raise awareness of the All of Us Research Program. Interested visitors can participate in the program on board, answering surveys, providing body measurements, and providing blood and urine samples.
“The All of Us Journey” will be in Kearney as part of its national tour September 3-6, 2024.
The mobile exhibition offers visitors the opportunity to register to participate in the program. Features include:
• An augmented reality experience
• Private rooms for physical measurements and collection of biological samples.
• An interactive station where participants can write a note to tell others why they were interested in participating in the program.
The All of Us Research Program aims to accelerate health research and medical breakthroughs. To do this, All of Us asks 1 million volunteers to share various types of health and lifestyle information – information such as where they live, employment and family health history.
The program is open to healthy and sick people from all walks of life. Unlike a single research study that focuses on a specific disease or social group, the All of Us Research Program will create a research resource that benefits thousands of studies on a wide range of health conditions. This information could help researchers learn more about different diseases and treatments and improve health for generations to come.
The future of health starts with us. If we want better healthcare for all of us, medical research must include all of us. The All of Us Journey is excited to partner with the Kearney Public Library to bring communities together and help improve health for generations to come.
The All of Us Journey engages community members across the country and raises awareness of the All of Us research program through a variety of educational activities and experiences.
