Jenna Ortega admits she received disturbing images that forced her to delete her social media account

Jenna Ortega announced that she deleted her social media account after receiving “dirty edited content” of her younger self.

The child star was just nine years old when she rose to fame and has lived a life in the spotlight ever since.

But she recently revealed in an interview with the New York Times that life as a famous teenager is not what it seems.

She recalled a “terrible” experience at the age of twelve that later led her to delete her X-account, then known as Twitter.

During the interview, she explained that she “hates” AI technology and wonders what could happen if the tools fell into the wrong hands.

The Wednesday The actress admitted that as a child she was shown pornographic images of herself with the help of artificial intelligence.

She said: “Did I enjoy opening a Twitter account at 14 because I was supposed to and seeing dirty, edited content of myself as a kid? No.

“It’s appalling. It’s corrupt. It’s wrong.”

She also recalled that the first direct message she received was an unsolicited image of male genitalia.

“And that was just the beginning of what was to come,” she said.

“I used to have this Twitter account and I was told, ‘Oh, you have to do this, you have to build your image.'”

But the influx of graphic images became so bad after she played the lead role in Wednesday in 2022 that she decided to delete her account completely.

She said: “It was disgusting and I felt bad.

“I felt uncomfortable.

“Anyway, the reason I deleted it was because I couldn’t say anything without seeing something like that.

“One day I woke up and thought, ‘Oh, I don’t need this anymore.’

“So I dropped it.”

Ortega’s concerns suggest that more and more involuntary, AI-created deepfakes are circulating on the internet.

Various apps and programs make “undressing” or “getting naked” in photos easier than ever before.

And Ortega is not the only star who fell victim to this.

Taylor Swift also became a target of such technologies after involuntary deepfakes of her nude photos were massively distributed on X.

Ortega told the Times that she is still learning how to navigate the online world and how to protect herself when technology seems to be constantly changing.
