Having trouble getting an Uber? Redditor reveals Uber hack to secure a ride ‘100% of the time’

Isn’t it extremely frustrating when you’re desperately trying to book an Uber bike and after what seems like an eternity of searching, you’re only presented with the dreaded “Our drivers are busy” message? The frustration reaches its peak when the weather is equally uncooperative and it’s pouring with rain. Well, one clever Redditor says he’s cracked the code that ensures you get a taxi every time you book.

What is the Uber hack?

A Redditor recently shared an Uber hack to get a ride: “Uber hack. Get a ride 💯% of the time.

He recounts how, after waiting for a long time with his wife for an Uber car at Thampanoor railway station, he decided to change his name on the app to that of his wife.

Surprisingly, this small change resulted in a much faster response.

“To my surprise, we got the car very quickly. Earlier, I never got Uber Auto in Thampanoor during peak hours, but since this change, I have gotten it much faster every time,” he writes.

He advises: “Next time you can’t get a driver, try this hack.”

How did people react?

It seems that this Redditor’s Uber hack is more common than you think.

In the comments, a user shared a similar story from Bahrain: “Haha this works everywhere! I was in Bahrain with my girlfriend earlier this year. After enjoying some late night street food, I tried to book an Uber but none of the drivers accepted the ride. I switched to local apps like Careem and still the same! I had the same idea and asked my girlfriend to book and voilà! The first driver accepted.”

Another wrote, “A few nights ago, my husband and I booked a cab at around 1am (in Bangalore). He has a first name which most Kannadigas/Northhies in Bangalore think is a girl’s name. 2-3 cab drivers called my husband and cancelled the ride when he said hello as he was not a girl. This happens more often than you think. I almost always get a ride within a couple of minutes while my husband takes a good 15-20 minutes.”

Have you tried this trick or do you know other taxi hacks?
